I’m happy to announce the publication of Howard Thurman and the Disinherited: A Religious Biography, with Eerdmans’s Press. This is the first modern biography of this absolutely central figure in American religious, racial, and intellectual history, one whose theology and writings provided a direct link to African American traditions of nonviolent resistance.
A small portion of this book was published as “Howard Thurman and the Arc of History in San Francisco,” a couple of years ago, and as Howard Thurman Inspired Martin Luther King’s Philosophy. A review of this book, just prior to publication, can be found here.
👍👍👍 YESSS! Looking forward to reading this.
